New Year, New Hair

New Year, New Hair

I don’t know about you, but a lot of us have gone through MAJOR changes this year, especially with our hair. Be it the need for change that invokes a pang of excitement through us or simply because we were overdue that haircut. However, here at MAGIO, although we do welcome and encourage changes with your hair, what is more, important is haircare. Despite the changes you make, you need to ensure that your hair doesn’t lose its strength. Here are a few ways you can replenish your hair in the New Year:

1. Eat the right foods that help your hair:
Hair is made up of a protein called Keratin, so, eating foods such as eggs, fish and chicken helps strengthen hair. Include more foods with Vitamin A such as pumpkin and carrots into your diet

2. Reduce the amount of heat you use on the hair:
Luckily there are many heatless ways to both, curl and straighten hair. While heat isn’t the enemy of hair, it is known to change the shape of the hair’s keratin strands. The key is to not cut out the heat completely but reduce the hair’s exposure.

3. Schedule salon appointments
Haircuts and styling are a part and parcel of having healthy hair. Not only do haircuts help with faster hair growth but also with the maintenance of hair health.

4. Hydrate
Drinking at least 2.5-3 litres of water daily is key to ensuring good hair health as it provides the moisture and hydration needed to remain voluminous and healthy.

5. Use sulfate/chemical-free shampoos
Chemicals strip the hair of its natural oils and so, for people with already dry scalps, it leaves the scalp even drier and flaky. Using sulphate and chemical-free shampoos will help retain the shine and volume of hair without stripping of the healthy oils.
